Van Persie suffered a knee injury during Netherlands defeat against France on the 31st of August and has been on the sidelines ever since for club and country.

On Thursday, Van Persie took to Twitter to confirm that he had resumed group training with his teammates as a comeback nears.

Fenerbahce face Antalyaspor on Sunday but it’s unclear whether this game will be too soon for the striker, who has competition for a spot from his fellow Dutchman Vincent Janssen.
