Robin Van Persie will be on the sidelines for the next 4-6 weeks with the knee injury, which means he will miss both legs of the Champion’s League quarter final against Bayern Munich, and fellow Dutch attacker Arjen Robben.
What initially seemed like a small injury that would see him on the bench for one or two weeks, turned out to be somewhat worse, and the timing could mean trouble for Manchester United’s Champions League campaign. While they still have plenty of goal scoring talent, RvP will be a huge miss for the Premier League club.
Oranje fans can breath a huge sigh of relief, having recently lost Kevin Strootman to a knee injury, that our captain will be recovered and well before the plane leaves for Brazil in June.
