Standing seventh in the Premier League and fighting for a chance at Champions League football next season, it’s no secret that David Moyes’ debut season with the Reds has been disappointing. According to Dutch national coach Louis Van Gaal, this has weighed down on star striker Robin Van Persie.
“The football from Man United now is for him maybe difficult,” the Dutch boss said.
However, Van Gaal is not worried Van Persie’s rut will follow him to Brazil this summer, “I think he should be great in the tournament because he loves to play in the Dutch squad… he has shown in the qualification matches more than ever because he’s our top scorer and I hope he can continue this.”
Manchester United still have time to turn their season around and have, at least, a less embarrassing campaign; but, either way RVP is looking forward to representing his country this summer. Van Gaal even stated that Van Persie, “wishes to show his technique,” adding skills, “in the Dutch team for him are higher.”
We are on the same page here spencer……Hup Hup Oranje!!!!!!!!!!
He should never have gone there.
Ferguson sold him a dummy, all that talk about staying on, utter nonsense.
Shameful.
At this stage in his career, Robin is looking for medals and prizes and trophies – not 7th place in the EPL, training alongside Shrek.
Hopefully Robin focuses on the WC now.
He needs to step up his international game to become a true ‘great’. And he certainly has the talent.
