Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie will not give up on a return to the Dutch national team in the future.

van persie ned turThe all-time leading scorer for Oranje hasn’t been called up by Danny Blind for any of the World Cup qualifiers, with Van Persie’s last international the defeat at home to Czech Republic in October 2015.

However, speaking to AD after Fenerbahce’s 1-0 win at Feyenoord on Thursday, Van Persie has stated he will never give up on a return to the national team.

The 33-year-old said, “I’ve always said; Playing for your country is a great honour. I see no reason to find that suddenly different. That conversation will come automatically. But I will never give up or thank Orange. For this Dutch team is too valuable to me, ”
