The newspaper is reporting that the Turkish giants have had a bid accepted by Ajax for Van Rhijn, who is set to sign a three-and-a-half year deal in Istanbul. When De Telegraaf contacted Ajax director Marc Overmars over the news, his comment was a brief “correct.”
Van Rhijn has seen his spot in the first team disappear after the swift rise of youngster Kenny Tete, and it now appears he will leave the Amsterdam Arena in search of first team action.
The 24-year-old has made 142 appearances for Ajax, while he has also earned eight caps for the Dutch national team, although his last call-up came in 2013.
