Joey Veerman has ended speculation around his future by signing a new deal with Heerenveen until 2024.

The 21-year-old had an excellent campaign with Heerenveen after joining from Volendam last summer.
Veerman had been linked with a move to Feyenoord and Club Brugge, but has now decided to commit his future to Heerenveen. On Saturday, the Frisian’s confirmed that Veerman had signed a new deal until 2024. His previous deal lasted until 2022.
Heerenveen technical manager Gerry Hamstra told the club’s website, “Joey had a good first season with us. He started playing at a higher level from the Eerste Divisie at sc Heerenveen, but quickly adapted. We are very pleased with his development and think that he can take even more steps with us. By opening his contract, we send a clear signal. We are very confident in the further development of Joey at sc Heerenveen.”
