Dutch defender Joel Veltman is set to disappoint a number of clubs by signing a new deal to stay with Ajax.

Veltman has been one of the stand out players for Ajax so far this season, after breaking into the first team due to the departure of Toby Alderweireld.
The centre back’s impressive performances in the Eredivisie, and Champions League have now alerted big clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
However the 22-year-old is poised to sign a new deal at the Amsterdam Arena which will commit him to Ajax until 2018. Speaking to Algameen Dagblad Veltman revealed his happiness to pledge his future to the Eredivisie champions.
Veltman said, “I’m glad it’s coming about. This will give me some calm. Im good at Ajax.”
After making his international debut for Netherlands this season, Veltman has a chance of making this summer’s World Cup, which could catapult the youngster even further into the plans of big clubs around Europe.
