Willem Vissers has praised PSV Eindhoven coach Mark van Bommel in his column for De Volkskrant.

Since taking over from Phillip Cocu in the summer, Van Bommel has won six games out of six, with PSV qualifying for the Champions League and currently sitting top of the table. On Saturday, the defending champions hammered Willem II 6-1.

Prominent Dutch journalist Willem Vissers wrote in his column for De Volkskrant, ‘Mark van Bommel is, I think, the best Dutch coach since Louis van Gaal.

“He is a bit harder than Frank de Boer, more progressive than Cocu and more versatile than Van Bronckhorst, to name a few others. In Bert van Marwijk he has one of the best Dutch trainers of the last decade as a full-time advisor.”

He added, “As a Bayern Munich player he got into a fight with coach Louis van Gaal. Presumably, that was no coincidence. However different, Van Bommel has traits of Van Gaal, even though he is baptized with holy water from Limburg, “
