Zenit are looking for a new coach after sacking Luciano Spalleti this week, who had been in charge of the club since 2009, but with the club currently second in the league, a new man will be brought in.
This morning De Telegraaf reported that Peter Bosz was a target for the Russian Champions, along with former Tottenham, Chelsea, and Porto boss Andre Villas Boas.
Speaking after Vitesse’s 2-1 defeat to PSV on Saturday, Bosz confirmed talks with Zenit, but does not think any deal is likely.
Bosz said, “I can confirm that I have spoken with Zenit St Petersburg. But I’m not sure I’m still a candidate.”
The 50-year-old has gained plaudits for making Vitesse title challengers this season, and Bosz has been linked with taking over as Feyenoord coach when Ronald Koeman leaves in the summer.
