Vitesse Arnhem have confirmed the signing of Wolfsburg midfielder Riechedly Bazoer on a three-year deal.

The 22-year-old had no future in Germany and after a loan spell with Utrecht last season, he returns to the Netherlands looking to get his career back on track.

Bazoer told the Vitesse website, “Vitesse is a team that suits me. The ambitions appeal to me and I want to contribute to that. I want to become important to the team as quickly as possible and get everything from myself that I have. I am still young and in the prime of my career. ”

The Netherlands international made a big impression with Ajax before joining Wolfsburg in 2017 for €12 million. After a successful start in Germany, Bazoer lost his place and he joined Porto on loan last summer. He failed to make an impression in Portugal and spent the last six months with Utrecht.

Bazoer is Vitesse’s fifth signing of the summer after Armando Obispo, Jay-Roy Grot, Tomáš Hájek and Charly Musonda.
