Henk Fraser confirmed earlier this season that he would leave Vitesse in the summer and on Monday the club announced Slutsky as his successor.

The former CSKA Moscow, Russia and Hull City has signed a two-year contract in Arnhem, which will begin in the summer.

Vitesse technical director Marc Van Hintum said on the appointment, “He has a lot of international experience, including as national coach and in a European context. In our search for a suitable new head coach, quality has always been more important than nationality. ”

Slutsky won three Russian Premier League titles with CSKA Moscow between 2009 and 2016, and also worked with the Russian national team. In the summer he took over at English Championship side Hull City, but was sacked after a few months.
