Vitesse Arnhem have confirmed the appointment of Thomas Letsch as their new head coach on a two-year deal.

Earlier this month, Vitesse confirmed that Edward Sturing would not continue in the head coach role next season. The club have now moved to appoint Letsch, who has now signed a two-year contract.

The 51-year-old has mainly worked in Austria, spending three years in various roles at Red Bull Salzburg. He was then head coach at FC Liefering, Erzgebirge Aue, and most recently Austria Wien.

Letsch is a compatriot of Vitesse technical director Johannes Spors, and he told the Vitesse website, “Of course I have known Johannes for some time. In addition, I know that the way of playing as I envisage it, corresponds well with the playing style that suits Vitesse. I see this as a great challenge. I want to develop players and see game elements such as intensity on the field. ”
