NAC Breda’s situation at the bottom of the Eredivisie looks even bleaker after they went down 4-1 at Vitesse.

De Graafschap got a point on Friday which meant NAC Breda were four points adrift at the bottom of the table.

A trip to Vitesse wasn’t seen as a great opportunity to get a win for NAC, but they took the lead in the 29th minute when Giovanni Korte beat Jake Clarke-Salter before firing past Eduardo.

Vitesse striker Mohammed Dauda went off the pitch injured soon after and was replaced by 18-year-old Thomas Buitink. The youngster drew Vitesse level in the 54th minute from an Alexander Buttner cross.

NAC went close to going ahead again but Daan Klomp hit the bar with a header before Mitchell te Vrede missed the rebound.

Vitesse eventually took control and eventually the lead when Maikel van der Werff netted from Martin Odegaard’s free-kick. The defender looked slightly offside but the goal was given.

Buttner made it 3-1 in the 86th minute before NAC were reduced to ten men when Klomp was shown his second yellow card. In injury time, Matus Bero sealed the victory.

Vitesse are fifth after the victory while NAC remain bottom and a long way from safety.
