Vitesse Arnhem has confirmed the signing of Benfica defender Francisco Reis Ferreira, more commonly known as Ferro, on loan with an option to buy.

The 25-year-old was in the interest of Fortuna Sittard, but Vitesse Arnhem have managed to beat their rivals and they confirmed the centre-back’s arrival on Friday.
Ferro came through the Benfica academy and he made 66 appearances for the club. Over the past two seasons he has had loan spells with Valencia and Hadjuk Split.
Ferro helps fill the gap in Vitesse’s defence after the departures of Danilho Doekhi and Riechedly Bazoer, who is yet to seal his intended transfer away from Arnhem.
