Vitesse completed two signings on Friday with Jay-Roy Grot joining on loan from Leeds United while defender Tomas Hajek comes in from Viktoria Plzen.

Grot was on loan with VVV Venlo last season and the 21-year-old is still deemed surplus to requirements in England. Leeds United have now decided to loan the forward to Vitesse Arnhem, the youngster’s hometown club.

“This is a boyhood dream for me, because my heart is in Arnhem,” Grot told the Vitesse website. “It feels great that I’m really going to play in the Vitesse shirt. This is a big and ambitious club and the feeling was good from the first moment.”

Vitesse have also completed the signing of centre-back Tomas Hajek on a three-year deal. He comes in from Viktoria Plzen.

Hajek told the club’s website, “I am very happy with this step. The facilities at Vitesse are excellent and the ambitions appeal to me. I can’t wait to join the group.”

Vitesse have now made three summer signings after Armando Obispo joined on loan from PSV earlier in the summer.
