Achenteh’s contract with Zwolle was up in the summer, and after indicating that he was not going to sign a renewal, the player has been sold to Vitesse for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old started his professional career with FC Eindhoven, making over 80 league appearances for the club before joining PEC Zwolle in 2011.
At Zwolle, Achenteh has played a key part in the clubs promotion from Eerste Divisie to Eredivisie, and helping them maintain their league status last season.
So far this season, the defender has made 20 appearances, scoring three times, but now leaves with Zwolle sitting 11th in the Eredivisie table.
Vitesse have now completed three January signings, having already completed loans for Bertrand Traore, and Zakaria Labyad. With Achenteh usually a left back, the club may see him as a long term replacement for Patrick van Aanholt, who returns to Chelsea in the Summer.
In a complete coincidence, Achenteh could make his Vitesse debut against PEC Zwolle, with the two clubs set to meet on Sunday.
