VVV Venlo came from behind to defeat De Graafschap 4-1 and keep their faint hopes of a European playoff spot alive.

De Graafschap went into the game looking for a win to keep their chances of avoiding relegation alive and after only two minutes they had the lead. Furdjel Narsingh fortunately found himself through on goal and he calmly fired the visitors ahead.

The hosts were forced into two early substitutions and one of the substitutes, Ralf Seuntjens fired in the equaliser seven minutes before the break.

Ten minutes into the second half, VVV had the lead when Nils Roselar lifted the ball over Nigel Bertrams before Peniel Mlapa tapped the ball into the net. Three minutes later, a swift counter-attack ended with Jay-Roy Grot firing VVV 3-1 ahead.

Before the end, Moreno Rutten added a fourth to seal the victory for VVV Venlo, who are now 11th. De Graafschap stay 17th.
