VVV Venlo marked their return to the Eredivisie with a simple 3-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam.

After four years in the second tier, VVV Venlo were finally back in the Eredivisie and they marked their return with a comfortable win over Sparta.

The opener came a minute before the break with Clint Leemans smashing a strike at goal from just outside the box and even though it was in the direction of Ryan Korsmit, the goalkeeper couldn’t make the save.

Three minutes into the second half it was 2-0 with Tarik Tissoudali controlling the ball in the box before steering it past Korsmit and in off the post.

In the 83rd minute, Sparta were reduced to ten with Jeffrey Chabot shown his second yellow card and just before the end Vito van Crooij wrapped up the win for the hosts.
