FC Twente remain bottom of the Eredivisie after a 0-0 draw at VVV Venlo.

The Tukkers went into the game without Gertjan Verbeek, who was sacked last week after a turbulent spell in charge. Marino Pusic will stay in charge until the end of the season and he saw Twente make a lively start in Venlo.

Twente dominated the early stages but Fredrik Jensen, Danny Holla and Tom Boere all passed up decent chances while at the other end Joel Drommel kept out a Clint Leemans free-kick.

In the second half, Lars Unnerstall came to VVV’s rescue on several times, pushing an Adnane Tighadouini shot onto the post, then getting down low to keep out Jensen’s effort.

The match remained goalless which leaves Twente bottom and one point behind Sparta Rotterdam. VVV are 12th.
