A dominant PEC Zwolle had to settle for a 1-1 draw with VVV Venlo after missing several chances.

The home side dominated the first half but wasted several chances, especially Younes Namli who caused the VVV defence problems throughout and came closest to the opener with a shot which flew just wide.
The second half was more open with both sides looking for the opener. Romeo Castelen went close for VVV while Ryan Thomas fired an excellent chance wide on 65 minutes.
Johnathan Opoku hit the post for VVV before Vito van Crooy gave the visitors the lead with an excellent free kick which left Diederik Boer with no chance. PEC Zwolle levelled in the 73rd minute as Mustafa Saymak nodded in Youness Mokhtar’s cross.
PEC Zwolle pushed for a winner but VVV held on to take a point. PEC Zwolle remain sixth while VVV are in tenth.
