Van der Hoorn spoke with us at the weekend and he speculated about his own Dutch national team chances, which he claimed would be “very hard” to achieve because he now plays in the English Championship.

“I still need to do a lot to be there,” said van der Hoorn, “But we have very good defenders now in the Dutch team.”

“We have one of the best in the world and the best upcoming talent as well, in the world; he had the Golden Boy award,” the 26-year-old continued, “It’s hard now for a defender from Holland to get in the team.”
