AZ Alkmaar striker Wout Weghorst is aware of interest from Bundesliga side Hannover 96 but is waiting for a concrete offer.

The German side sealed their Bundesliga return last summer and reportedly have an eye on Weghorst as they search for a new striker.

Speaking to Fox Sports, Weghorst stated that he is aware of the interest from Hannover, but with no concrete offer, he is just concentrating on AZ.

Weghorst said, “I am always very open and honest about it. I know there is interest and they (Hannover) have watched me. They followed me. That’s what I know.”

On whether he is interested in moving to Germany, Weghorst added, “Germany, England… Those are the countries where your ambitions lie as a footballer. All I can say is that the leagues are nice but currently, it is useless to think about it. ”

Weghorst joined AZ from Heracles last summer as the replacement for Vincent Janssen and netted 18 times in 49 appearances, adding five assists.
