Weghorst went into Friday’s clash with four goals in his last five Bundesliga games.
With the score at 2-2, Weghorst made it five goals in six games with a fine finish in the 37th minute.
Werder equalised early in the second half, but Weghorst then restored Wolfsburg’s lead in the 76th minute with a header. Bartosz Bialek then sealed the hosts win late on after Werder Bremen had been reduced to ten men.
When will he take his chance in the Oranje squad ?
I get that the NT often wants to use Memphis as the #9, but you always want at least one pure #9 in your team and Weghorst certainly deserves a chance based on Luuk de Jong’s recent performances. Wake up FDB.
Right. Even if he is a substitute, sometimes you need a player like Weghorst during the match.
