Cillessen wants to leave Barcelona this summer but there asking price of €60 million was making negotiations with interested clubs tricky.
According to Sport, Barcelona have now lowered their fee to €20 million, which is still too much for Benfica, who were said to be close to agreeing a deal last month. Valencia are also interested but they would need to sell Neto first before making an offer.
Now, three Premier League clubs are said to be in the race. Manchester United like Cillessen as an option should David De Gea leave, while Everton want him to provide competition to Jordan Pickford. West Ham United are also very charmed by the Netherlands number one.
Sport is reporting that Cillessen is in negotiations with two Premier League clubs but would not confirm which two.
No chance are west ham buying another keeper after already confirmed two
Why on Earth would he go to Everton? He made it clear he wants to be a first choice GK. He’s backup at one of the best clubs in the world already – it would be lunacy to trade that just to be a backup at a sub-top, underachieving EPL club.
Neither make sense West ham have Fabianski who was top for saves in PL last season & just signed Roberto & Martin as backup while have 2 19yo GKs set for loan.
Everton either with 2 Keepers.
Cillessen needs to go somewhere where he will be number 1. And has been backup at Barca to long seems their price might have dropped but he is 30 now still young for keeper but not that young. He needs to be #1 even if not a top club. Watford with Gomes leaving would be a good about & good team under Garcia. Real Betis could lose Pau Lopez if so they would be a good move.
Palace he would walk right in as #1 but Watford to me would be better option.
