wijnaldum 0Wijnaldum has been suffering with back complaints since the u21 European Championship last summer in Israel, and PSV thought a few weeks out would solve the problem.

However De Telegraaf are reporting that the midfielder’s recovery has been a lot slower than expected, and there are fears that Wijnaldum could be out until the Eredivisie takes its winter break at the end of December.

Its a bitter blow for the player, who had started the season well, and earned himself a place in the senior Dutch national team for the friendly with Portugal in August.

However there is some good news for PSV with Park Ji Sung, Jurgen Locadia, and Stijn Schaars all available after injury scares, while Luciano Narsingh is close to his long awaited comeback. The winger is currently gaining minutes with PSV’s reserve side, and although he isn’t ready for a comeback in the first team this weekend, he may be available for the Europa League match midweek.
