Georginio Wijnaldum was on the scoresheet as Liverpool claimed a hard fought 3-2 win over West Ham United at Anfield.

Liverpool went into the game as clear favourites against the side currently sitting 18th. It seemed the runaway Premier League leaders were on course for an easy win when Wijnaldum headed them in front after only nine minutes. It was the Dutchman’s third league goal of the campaign.

However, three minutes later, Issa Diop scored from a corner to stun Anfield and make it 1-1.

Liverpool pushed for the lead before the break but they missed several chances, while Virgil van Dijk hit the bar.

In the 54th minute, West Ham took a shock lead through Pablo Fornals but Mohamed Salah then equalised for the hosts.

Nine minutes from time, Sadio Mane struck to seal yet another victory for Liverpool, who are closing in on the title.
