Georginio Wijnaldum has revealed that no talks have taken place over a contract extension with Liverpool.

Liverpool have recently tied Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to long-term deals. However, Wijnaldum has not been approached yet.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Wijnaldum said, “No, I did not speak with the club yet. That is something for the club. I will see what happens. I signed a five-year contract and I am still under contract. I just do my job to perform. A new contract has to come from the club.”

There is no rush for a new contract, though, with two-years still left on his contract at the end of this season.

Since joining from Newcastle United in 2016, Wijnaldum has made 127 appearances for Liverpool, scoring ten goals and adding 16 assists.
