Pjanic is almost certain to leave the Roman club this summer with a move to Seria A rivals Juventus on the cards, meaning Roma will need to find a replacement for the attacking midfielder. Sky Sports Italia are reporting that Roma have identified Georginio Wijnaldum as the perfect man to fill Pjanic’s shoes.
Wijnaldum was relegated from the Premier League with Newcastle United, despite netting 11 goals, and has been cagey about his future with the club, stating on numerous occasions that he has not decided where he will be playing next season.
Roma will not be able to sign the Dutchman on the cheap, with Wijnaldum still contracted to Newcastle until 2020 and their coach Rafa Benitez adamant that the club are under no pressure to let any of their star players leave.
Serie A rivals Napoli are also interested in Wijnaldum, while there is also clubs from the Premier League following the Netherlands international.
