Netherlands left-back Owen Wijndal impressed against Spain and is now hoping that Frank de Boer picks him for the two upcoming Nations League games.

Frank de Boer indicated before the draw with Spain that the players who play 90 minutes in the friendly will not start against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday.

However, Wijndal is hoping to be the exception to the rule after an impressive performance on Wednesday.

The AZ star told Algemeen Dagblad, “I am top fit. Let the national coach decide how he will do in the coming games, but I’m ready. I don’t feel tired at all, despite having covered eleven kilometers. I usually do that in games.”

Wijndal has competition from Patrick van Aanholt and Daley Blind to start on Sunday.
