According to reports in England, Georginio Wijnaldum could be free to depart Liverpool this summer.

The Dutch international has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League leaders this season but his contract expires in 18 months.

Liverpool are yet to make a move to tie Wijnaldum down to a new deal, making his future at the club uncertain.

According to Athletic journalist, David Ornstein there are three options at the moment. Liverpool extends Wijnaldum’s contract, he leaves in the summer, or the former PSV star waits and leaves on a free in 2021.

A number of clubs from Spain and Italy are said to be interested in signing Wijnaldum next summer. The 29-year-old joined Liverpool for €27.5 million from Newcastle United in 2015.
