The visitors made the better start in Tilburg and eventually took the lead on twenty minutes as Ruben Schaken’s cross was headed in at the near post by Mike Havenaar.
Willem II then went in search of an equaliser, but forward Erik Falkenburg missed three good chances and eventually just before the hour mark Frank van der Struijk headed a cross into his own net to seal the victory for ADO Den Haag.
With only three games to go Willem II remain level on points with third-bottom Excelsior, who play Heerenveen later on Sunday. ADO Den Haag climb to 10th and still have an outside chance of reaching the European play-offs.
