ADO Den Haag climbed away from the drop zone with a crucial 2-1 win at Willem II.

The hosts began brightly and through  Erik Falkenburg and Obbi Oularé they created chances, but it was ADO Den Haag who took the lead when Abdenasser el Khayati shot into the net from the edge of the box.

However, three minutes later Willem II equalised when Robert Zwinkels let a Pele van Anholt header slip out his hands and Oulare stabbed the ball into the net.

Falkenburg missed a great chance to give Willem II the lead on 42 minutes and straight from the breakaway Mike Havenaar turned in the box and fired ADO Den Haag back in front.

Zwinkels made up for his error with several saves in the second half as ADO Den Haag held on for the three points. They now rise to 15th while Willem II remain 11th.
