Cambuur are the only side left in the Eredivisie without a win after last weeks defeat at home to bottom side De Graafschap, and in another crucial game at the bottom Henk de Jong’s side found themselves behind after 11 minutes when Guus Joppen headed in a free kick.
The goal forced Cambuur out of their shells and they eventually started to create chances in the second half with Kostas Lamprou denying Bartholomew Ogbeche and Sander van de Streek, while Sjoerd Overgoor saw a goalbound effort blocked.
With Cambuur failing to take their chances Willem II eventually punished the visitors as Erik Falkenburg tapped in a corner to make it 2-0 before Stijn Wuytens sealed the three points late on with a free kick.
The win puts Willem II four points ahead of the bottom three in 15th while Cambuur remain second bottom.
