Debutante Bartholomew Ogbeche failed to make the difference for Willem II as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Heracles Almelo.

willher jOgbeche was signed by Jurgen Streppel this week in a bid to end Willem II’s goalscoring issues, and the Nigerian was thrust straight into the starting line-up.

However Willem II couldn’t turn their possession into real chances for their new striker, and it was Heracles who proved to be the more dangerous side on the counter attack. Illias Bel Hassani was particularly a thorn in Willem II’s side, with the attacker testing Kostas Lamprou four times with efforts from distance, while he also struck the crossbar in the second half.

For the home side a Lucas Andersen shot over the bar was the closest they came to breaking the deadlock in a drab game.

Heracles remain 4th after the draw, while Willem II sit fourteenth.
