After the loss to PSV last weekend and draw with RKC Waalwijk in midweek, John Stegeman decided to start Slobodan Tedic for the first time.
The striker didn’t make a big impression, but PEC Zwolle were the better team in the first half. Dean Huiberts, Immanuel Pherai and Yuta Nakayama all went close but there was no goal.
Vangelis Pavlidis was the threat for Willem II in the second half, but the Greek forward could also not find the net.
Four minutes from time, PEC Zwolle were reduced to ten men when Mustafa Saymak was sent off. Then in the last minute, Jan-Arie van der Heijden thought he had won it for Willem II. However, VAR spotted an offside in the build-up.
The point means PEC Zwolle are 9th and Willem II sit one spot below them.
