Willem II have confirmed the signing of VFL Bochum midfielder Görkem Saglam on a two-and-a-half year deal.

The 21-year-old’s contract with Bochum expired in the summer and he barely came into action for the club this season, meaning he was free to join Willem II.

The Germany youth international has now signed a contract in Tilburg until 2022.

Saglam told the official Willem II website, “Willem II is currently running one of her best seasons ever. I am going to do my best 100% to contribute to that. It is extra nice for me to know Vangelis Pavlidis and Mats Köhlert from my time with Bochum and the German youth team. Tomorrow I’ll be on the training field for the first time and I’m really looking forward to it.”

The attacking midfielder made 30 first team appearances for Bochum overall.
