Willem II ended the year with a comfortable 2-0 victory at FC Emmen.

Willem II went into the game without goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther, defender Thomas Meissner, midfielder Atakan Akkaynak, and striker Donis Avdijaj who were all suspended by the club after a disciplinary issue.

However, their absence didn’t stop Willem II from dominating the game in Emmen and three minutes before the break they were in front. Aras Özbiliz slotted in a low cross from Damil Dankerlui.

Seven minutes into the second-half, Willem II added a second through Fran Sol, who slotted in his thirteenth goal of the campaign.

The visitors comfortably saw out the rest of the match and head into the winter break sitting 12th, while Emmen are one spot below them.
