Willem II have strengthened, before the resumption of the Eredivise next week, with the signing of Katuka Tsimanaga on a free transfer.

The twenty-seven-year-old left back, who was previously at KRC Genk, was released following his contract expiring after four and half years in Belgium. During the summer, Tshimanga looked set for a move to Italy, with interest from both Inter Milan and Sampdoria, but the move failed to materialise.
Tshimanga has now chosen to stay closer to home signing a one-year deal in Tilburg with Willem II. The defender is free to link up with his new team mates straight away as free transfers are not subject to the transfer window, which closed on Thursday.
Willem II were actively looking for a left back in order to add depth to a position that has been a problem area over the last few seasons. Tshimanga will be eager to earn a starting position in the squad having failed to gain a regular first team place in Genk, with very few appearances since January, and will now battle Dico Koppers for a first team spot.
It is widely expected that Tshimanga will make his debut against AZ Alkmaar as Willem II look to avoid another relegation battle this season.
