Despite the young Austrian’s failure to cement his spot in Dutch giants first team, he has proven his talent deputising for first choice pair Matthijs de Ligt and Daley Blind, even appearing for the Amsterdam club in the Champions League this season.

And with de Ligt set to depart in summer, Sevilla are thought to be prioritising a move for the 20 year old, who can also play left back, as early as possible to avoid potential complications de Ligt’s situation may add to any summer deal.

Wöber signed for Ajax in 2017 from Rapid Vienna for a fee of €7.5 million and has gone on to make 34 appearances as well as his debut for the Austrian national side.
