Bruma has signed a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side after PSV accepted a fee of just under €15 million for the centre back.
Speaking to the Wolfsburg official website Bruma said, “Since my time at Hamburger SV, it was always clear to me that I wanted to return to the Bundesliga, as it is one of the top leagues in Europe. I am delighted about having a chance at Wolfsburg in the future. I gathered a great deal of experience during my three years with PSV and I have developed well. Now it’s time to take the next step. Klaus Allofs and Dieter Hecking have made it very clear that VfL is exactly the right place to do so,”
Bruma started his career with Feyenoord before joining the youth academy of Chelsea in 2007. Bruma only made four league appearances for the Blues, whilst spending time on loan with Leicester City and Hamburg. In 2013 PSV brought Bruma back to the Netherlands, and the 24-year-old made 94 league appearances over the past three years and lifted the Eredivisie trophy twice.
His decision to stay with psv turned to be the right one as he developed into one of the strongest dutch defenders while rekik left for france at a young age,a mistake most dutch players do,finding themselves unprepared to aford a stronger league!
