The 30-year-old had an expiring contract, but AZ were keen to extend his deal for another two years. However, HBVL in Belgium are reporting that Wuytens has rejected this and decided he wants to leave the club.
This will be a big blow for AZ boss Arne Slot, who was hoping to keep the experienced centre-back, who has been a key player since joining the club in January 2016.
The Belgian came through the PSV Eindhoven academy, before spells with De Graafschap, Beerschot and Willem II. He moved to AZ for around €500 thousand in 2016 and has since made 143 appearances for the club.
