Barçelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed this week that Quique Setién will remain the club’s head coach until the end of this season, despite the fact Real Madrid should win the title on Thursday.
However, that hasn’t stopped the links with former midfielder Xavi, who is destined to become the club’s coach one day. However, behind the scenes, not everyone at Barcelona would be happy with Xavi’s arrival.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi would want an overhaul behind the scenes, meaning a number of people should fear for their jobs. He would also want to appoint Jordi Cruyff as director of Football. Cruyff is currently head coach of the Ecuador national team.
Xavi recently extended his contract with Al-Saad, and isn’t the only one being linked with Barcelona. Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has been constantly associated with the position too, but maintains that he will stay with Oranje until after the European Championships next summer.
