The German winger spoke to De Telegraaf, and revealed his frustration that Ajax blocked a transfer which would have increased his odds of being part of Germany’s World Cup squad next summer.

He said, “Three big clubs in Germany and Italy wanted to buy me and were willing to pay a large transfer fee, which would increase my odds on the World Cup with Germany, but a transfer was unquestionable for Ajax. I have given my all for the club on and off the field for two years. Why does Ajax allow Davinson Sanchez to go and I can not? They did not even talk. ”

Younes also hit back at those criticising his performances so far this season, telling De Telegraaf that he is “Not fresh” after being with the Germany squad for the Confederations Cup. He revealed that Ajax said no to an extra holiday for him because of the Champions League qualifiers.
