petroADO Den Haag won 2-1 away at Excelsior Rotterdam to make to three wins from the first three matches of the season for the first time in 46 years for the team from the Hague.

After the game, Petrovic said, ”This is a dream start to the season for us. I think the last time that this club won their first 3 games of the season was in the 1970 / 1971 season and I am really proud of everyone. I must also give credit to Excelsior Rotterdam for an evenly matched game and through team spirit we managed to achieve the victory tonight.

”We always try to play good football but sometimes the opponent is better so we have to get our tactics spot on. I feel that we deserved our victory and to be on 9 points at this stage of the season is fantastic and I can only compliment my squad who have worked very hard and also nobody expected us to be in this position when the predictions were made from pundits in the media before the season started ”.
