The midfielder has been dropped from the Ajax first team squad since November after struggling with his role as a reserve under Peter Bosz, and a comeback doesn’t seem likely.
According to Russian newspaper Sportfakt, Zenit st Petersburg are willing to offer the Serbian a way out of Amsterdam and have opened negotiations with Ajax.
The Russian giants see Gudelj as back-up for Oleg Shatov and Danny, while he could also replace Axel Witsel who is set to leave the club.
