Netherlands U19’s eased to a 4-0 victory over Portugal U19’s on Tuesday thanks to a hat-trick from Joshua Zirkzee.

Last week, Netherlands drew 2-2 with Italy but on Tuesday, the young Oranje team was far too good for Portugal.

After only three minutes, Joshua Zirkzee tapped in a cross by Wouter Burger to make it 1-0. Six minutes later, Ryan Gravenberch broke through and set up Arjen van der Heide to net the second.

Early in the second half, goalkeeper Mees Bakker conceded a penalty kick but he redeemed himself with an excellent save.

Zirkzee then made it 3-0 with a fine finish into the corner before the Bayern Munich striker wrapped up his hat-trick after an excellent through ball by substitute Marouan Azarkan.

Netherlands will now take confidence into the first qualifying round for the European Championships. In October they will face Israel, Latvia and Moldova.
