Jeroen Zoet is happy to be with the Dutch national team after a difficult weekend for the PSV Eindhoven stopper.

Mark van Bommel replaced Zoet with Lars Unnerstall for the defeat to Willem II, and five minutes before kick-off, the PSV stopper was told he was not even on the bench. He spent the first half in the stadium but then spent the second in the player’s bus

Van Bommel has since apologised to Zoet for the way the situation was handled on Sunday.

Zoet is now with the Netherlands squad and told AD that he wants to move on, “I am pleased with the apologies of PSV.

“Of course it was a big disappointment but if someone is critical of me, then I am too. And I will never put myself above the team. I have been very disappointed, but now there is one very thick line below it. I am going to fight hard to get my place back, I am the first to be very critical of myself. I can do much better. ”

Koeman confirmed that Zoet is still Netherlands number two goalkeeper but he will assess the situation in training over the next week.
