The goalkeeper has been outstanding throughout the campaign for PSV Eindhoven, who sealed the Eredivisie title last Sunday with victory over Ajax.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Zoet admitted he was disappointed about missing out on a transfer last summer, “After all, I’ve been walking around with that disappointment for a while, as people around me have noticed. After that I mainly looked at myself, I stayed with PSV, that was a fact, and from that moment on I wanted to make the best of it, with a view to performance, this season and ultimately my future.”

The 27-year-old stated he took extra responsibility at PSV this season, “After Osijek, with a small group of players, we were taken apart by Toon Gerbrands and Marcel Brands, who have given us the responsibility. I took it on myself and I’ve been very busy with it.”

Zoet is now targetting a move to England or Germany, but only if he is the number one, “Playing time comes first because I can not sit on the bench properly. I did last year when I was not allowed to play cup games, I train to play, I always attend every game, that’s the best thing there is, and sitting at a big club on the couch is possible when I am 34. When I leave PSV, I hope for a club from the Premier League or from the Bundesliga. “
