fey fFeyenoord were once again unimpressive, but Mitchell te Vrede’s fourth goal of the season has put the Rotterdam side in touching distance of the Europa League group stages.

Zorya took the lead just before the half hour mark with Maksym Bilyy smashing a quickly taken free kick through the Feyenoord wall and into the bottom corner, just out of Erwin Mulder’s reach.

Feyenoord were level before the break though as Mitchell Te Vrede poked Luke Wilkshire’s cross into the net to continue the striker’s great start to the season, and give his side a crucial away goal.

In the second half, Jordy Clasie came close to giving Feyenoord the lead, but his powerful strike from distance was tipped around the post. In the last ten minutes, Feyenoord missed three great opportunities to win the game, firstly Lex Immers slid over from  few yards out, before Te Vrede squandered a one-on-one by dwindling on the ball, and finally Tonny Vilhena headed wide in front of an open goal.

Next week in Rotterdam, Feyenoord should be too strong for the Ukrainians, and after netting an away goal, they will be confident of a place in the next round.
