00 van ginkeVan Ginkel had a frustrating first season with Chelsea last year, missing most of the campaign with injury, and while the midfielder has also been ruled out for a chunk of his loan deal with AC Milan, the Italian club’s bosses have been impressed with the Dutchman.

After starring in the Serie A clubs last four matches, and being named man of the match against Sampdoria last week in a 1-1 draw, AC Milan bosses are believed to be keen on extending Van Ginkel’s loan to next season or even making his move permanent.

However speaking to Voetbal Primeur, Van Ginkel’s agent Karel Jansen stated that although AC Milan is an option, the player’s main focus is to break into Chelsea’s first team.

Jansen said, “There is nothing excluded or eliminated. Milan could be an option, but it is early and we’re also waiting to see what will happen with a possible takeover. In addition, we have to see what Chelsea and Marco himself want to do.”

“Marco’s goal remains Chelsea. The goal was and is Chelsea.”
